The Kickstarter is finally over!!

Thank you to everyone who backed, shared the campaign, or just put up with my posts the last month. With crowdfunding over, I can stop worrying about doing so many social media posts and focus on completing the book. And also working on the next chapter!

I want to talk a little bit about what the rest of this year and next is going to look like update-wise. My current projection from when I’ll start Kickstarter fulfillment is May 2020. My hope is that I’ll have the files for book one complete by the end of February. This will give me a few months of buffer to proof read and to account for any surprise production hiccups. Since most of my comic production time has been going to book one pages, I’ll also be using part of the next few months to build a buffer for chapter 18 back up. My hope is to begin posting chapter 18 sometime in April.

Until then, I don’t want to leave you completely high and dry for RDD content. I’ll be posting some previously unpublished mini comics as well as re-posting the Champion short story. These updates will be once a week on Tuesdays. I’m also planning to keep up the tradition of doing the Shipping Contest again this year. Voting for that will most likely start sometime mid-December and run through January. As far as chapter 18 posting goes, I’ve given it a lot of thought and I think I’m going to continue one page of updates a week for the upcoming year. This was a hard choice to come to, but I ultimately made it for a few reasons.

The first is currently I don’t have a buffer. I want to make sure I re-establish a solid backlog of pages before I attempt to start two pages a week again. The second is that this last year has been really exhausting. All of the book one prep, including planning the kickstarter, has really taken a lot out of me. It’s been good, but also really hard to go backwards and live in the first five chapters again for so long. I’ve basically been pining over moving forward. I’m really looking forward to having a physical copy of the book to hold in my hands, but I also need a little bit of breathing room and time to recover. Thirdly, 2020 is promising to be a busy year for me. Namely, Taylor and I are getting married! It’s still a long way off, but wedding planning is already exhausting X’)

As always, I’m sad that I won’t be able to share more comic with you faster, but I know I’m going to need this little rest. I hope you all will enjoy the mini comics and participate in the Shipping Contest. The book is going to make this year a little different, but it’s still gonna be a good one 🙂 Speaking of mini comics, the first one is going to start Thursday! Don’t forget to catch it!
