As to Prometheus, there’s a latter day follow-on from Burroughs Lab in Isla Vista, Santa Barbara, CA by way of a friend who worked there Back When. He attributes the following to Jerome Wilner, at the time his boss, who compared a current Burroughs product, the B-1700/B-1800 interpreter engines as the Promethean[0] computers against IBM’s System 360/370 systems as the Procrustean.
