Hey all! It’s been a while, but I’m back with a Kickstarter to finally get chapter 1 of Usual Haunts printed. I know anyone reading this here was probably hoping for more RDD pages, but you’ll haveĀ  to make do with a little sfw preview of UH instead :p If you stick around to the end of this post I’ll include a little update of what my RDD plans are.

Okay! Here’s the preview:

Backing the Kickstarter is also a great chance to pick up some RDD merch as well. I have basically all of my con booth available as add-ons, including RDD book 1s and some incredibly sparkly swordtember stickers of Michael, Astrid, and Versalius.

What’s up with RDD, Mariah?

I am slowly in the works of plotting it’s return. My sweet baby child (who is doing so well and is the most adorable lil guy, thanks for asking) turning one in January was kind of a turning point for me feeling like I had a handle on an art schedule again. I was finishing up a couple of smaller anthology projects during the first part of the year and it really helped me come to the conclusion that I was ready and excited and wanted to hop back into my main projects. And then I immediately started working on a ~35 page, not related to any of them, erotic comic about some vampire ttrpg characters, but that’s still my own personal project and not anthology related so it doesn’t count! X’D This Usual Haunts Kickstarter is the first part of that getting back to my own series decision.

I’ve actually been slowly working on RDD here and there since the baby break, I just don’t have anything lettered to share yet. I’ve been trying to decided how much buffer and what kind of schedule I want to commit to before I go back to posting, but kind of the overview is get the current chapter finished in 2025 and then either start work on the next chapter or new chapter 6 (maybe a bit of both at the same time). Ideally, I’d really like to plan a book 2 print run in 2026, so that’s the current long term goal. The next chapter is going to officially be the end of Part 1/the middle point of the series.

I’ve kind of decided that I’m going to pull a Naruto:Shippuden with Part 2 so that I can call RDD “finished” so I can submit it to certain web archives. I’m kicking around Rainy Day Dreams: Resurrection as the second series title. I’d also to revamp the website for Part 2 and I’m thinking it’ll be a lot easier to start fresh than try to change all the moving parts going on with this site.

So those are the plans! I wish I could complete them a little faster, but I currently still have about the same to maybe less time for the comic part of my life with being a full time parent. If you’re still bothering to check this site, thank you so much for still caring <3 I’m still pretty bad about updating regularly anywhere (the increasing hostility of the internet towards artists makes it hard for me to want to put myself or anything I make out there also), but if you’d like to find me elsewhere, I’d recommend following me on cohost, instagram, or substack.

Until next update!
